ingredients

All the ingredients in Alice Cosmetics formulations are FDA approved for cosmetic use. Listed below are the five major ingredients, then six others that are used in small amounts and only in certain products.

Mica—Minerals that are found in crystallized, thin sheets, in colors from pale green to black to colorless. Mica creates a smooth finish, and its light-reflecting properties help to obscure fine lines and wrinkles.

Titanium Dioxide—The greatest covering power of any white pigment, occurring naturally in crystal form. Supplies a natural block against the sun's UVA and UVB rays, provides a long-lasting, matte finish, and reflects light.

Iron Oxides—Cosmetic-grade iron oxides are made from iron that has oxidized, which removes heavy metals. They give makeup its pigment, varying in color from red to brown, black to yellow.

Zinc Oxide—Acts as an anti-inflammatory, calming the skin, and is soothing to those with acne or rosacea. Zinc oxide is insoluble in water so it stays on even while sweating and swimming, and offers some UV protection.

Boron Nitride—Boron nitride has antibacterial properties and glides on smoothly. It is composed of flat crystals that can freely slide over one another, enabling a silky glide in application. Also provides excellent adhesion and soft-focus properties.

Ultramarine Blue—Ultramarine blue, derived from lapis lazuli, is a colorant used in cosmetics, including around the eye area.

Kaolin—Also known as China clay, Kaolin is a pure clay that offers good coverage, high absorption, and a creamy texture.

Magnesium Stearate—Provides texture, opacity, and high adhesion. Also gives makeup its "slip."

Rice Powder—Rice powder, which adds smoothness to makeup, is an excellent alternative to talc and cornstarch.

Ferric Ferrocyanide—Prussian blue. A colorant used in cosmetics, including around the eye area.

Allantoin—Allantoin is a skin protectant and stimulates new tissue growth.

Alice Cosmetics does not use bismuth oxychloride, talc, parabens, cornstarch, nanoparticles, fillers, oils, vitamins, or fragrances.
